Gettin' High with a little help from Hairspray

What happens when you combine two over active girls and the movie hairspray? Lots of silliness and dancing and laughing and screaming.

Sarah and her friend Diamond both agree that Tracy is a chunky monkey but she can dance and sing! In fact, Sarah keeps telling me how much she really like Tracy better than the other girl.

Rock Band for 4 year olds

So Sarah has taken a shine to Rock Band. Probably cuz we are obsessed with it. She can sing the Maps pretty good and loves to play the drums. She is a rock star in the making!

Super Girl

Emily has fallen for Superman. No joke she wants to watch the movies all the time. I broke down and bought her a Superman toothbrush and boy that girl loves to brush her teeth. Sarah is into Spiderman which is really cool too. I love them both. But something about Superman is just soooo American! He fights for truth, justice and the American way. I love that boy scout. Well Emily loves him so much she goes around pretending to fly like him. With both arms out she yells"swooooosh" like she is in the air saving the world. It is so cute. My kids are gonna be so awesome! I mean, my kids ARE so Awesome!

Beatles or Elvis?

I heard somewhere that you can't be a Beatles fan and an Elvis fan. I love them both. They are both two different types of music so how can you love one and not the other? I love the Beatles because they were so artsy fartsy, especially George Harrison. (loved him the most) and I love Elvis cuz he just sang his heart out about love and captured every American girl's heart. Why wouldn't you love the King? His sexy southern accent plus he looked hot in his Army uniform. So I say you can love both if you want too. Be your own judge of things to love. Can't Buy Me Love Me Tender!

Me and my girls

So i am sure most of you are like "Tanya, why aren't there any pics of you?" First i have to make sure it is a good pic so i don't ruin my political career. Second, I am not usually ready for the camera cuz i hang out in my pj's all day. so yesterday the girls and i decided we were in high spirits, so high that we took some pics. so enjoy how cute we looked that day and remember that it was a happy day despite the fact that mr. sun did not stay long to play. good thing i didn't have any boogies!

Ever had a balloon dance?

When Valentine's Day hit, we woke up to flowers and two special balloons for the girls. They loved them. First off, they are freakin balloons! Second, they were heart shaped and shiny. So we were getting super bored on friday, the day after, so i decided we should have a dance. Well it turned into us hopping around with our balloons to the tune of the Popcorn song. Not the primary one but the hip 70's instrumental. This song became a hit with me when I watched the movie Dick with kirsten dunst a few years back. I don't know why this was my favorite movie of 2002 but it was. So now i have my two girls hooked on this far out song that they love to dance too. So grab your balloons and dance baby!

Treasure Island

Do you, like myself, enjoy reading books?? If yes, then I hope that you have had the chance to read those books that you grew up loving to your children. Well in all honestly I had never read Robert Louis Stevenson's book before I had children. One day when I was scouring the used book store, I decided that there were a great many books out there that I had not read as a child. So I finished with my other books and picked up Treasure Island again. I was so enraptured by their adventure on a sea-going vessel that I decided that my girls would enjoy it too. Naturally, I did all the voices. Jim of course had a young boys accent. One that had not quite reached puberty. Captain Smollett had a very husky, deep english voice while the squire was very cockneyed. I loved doing the voice for Dr. Livesley since I thought he should have a very snooty, educated english accent. Amazingly the girls let me read several chapters to them while swimming in the tub. I really caught sarah's attention when the parrot had a line or two. She loves parrots. The idea of sailing off in search of treasure with a possible mutiny is so exciting. What will happen to the crew and what is going to happen on the island? Will there be a treasure? I am so excited to find out.

W.A.H.C. What is it?

W.A.H.C. is Women Against Hillary Clinton. The H is silent. The reason i am posting this is the simple fact that she is a poor representation of women. Have you noticed how much she back bites? She is a gossiper and instead of praising those around her she only praises herself. I don't think that any lady, who claims to have "power", to behave in such a disgraceful manner. What? Does she think she can claw her way to the top? I certainly don't want an angry, crazy woman running the country. She must be logical and level-headed and at the same time have grace and class. That is not hard to do. Another thing is-The business Suits. I think they are hideous. Way too manly to boot. She should be more feminine to show that she is proud to be a woman. But nooooooo. Not Hillary. She wants to be a man. The man her husband couldn't be. It just sickens me to see so many young and old woman practically worshipping her like she is a front runner for womens rights. Honey, that started a long time ago before you and your family were getting rich off the poor folks in this country. I say a giant "NAY" to Hillary and always will. Give me someone like Eleanor Roosevelt. She had class and loved her country not herself. She would blow Hillary out of the competition. The world doesn't need any more "tough women." We have enough of them in prison.

Sleeping Beauties

Both of my girls passed out today in the car coming home from doing so many errands. This is a complete rarity in itself since Sarah has self-proclaimed herself a non-napper. I almost don't know what to do with myself. So I played Rock Band for a half hour and played on hard for the drums. Way more intense and fun. I got an 83% on BlackHole Sun. I felt pretty good about that so I turned it off before I could bomb on some other song! I guess this means now I should straighten up(again) and mop the kitchen floor. That floor seems to enjoy being dirty from all the snow melting off boots and turning into dirt puddles which dry into dirt spot. I have been putting it off thinking " someone is gonna walk through that door as soon as I finish and have a beautiful, clean floor again."

On another note I watched the press conference that showed that President Monson is now the new President of the Church ( not too surprising since he is totally amazzzzing) and that Elder Uchtdorf is now a counselor in the first presidency. They are such brilliant men that I know they are called of God to lead and direct us in righteousness.

Love Affair with Kefir

So on mish, Kefir was really gross. It was very plain and sour. But, since shopping at Good Earth(wild oats is way too far away) i have come to find a new love in Kefir. Strawberry Kefir just slides down your throat with all its rich thickness. I love this cousin to yogurt. Why? It is so much better than the store bought, sugared up lump of dairy. I plan on making my own yogurt this weekend but for now i will just love my strawberry kefir. Try and you will like it better than yoplait. trust me!
