My Big Preschooler

Sarah is into her second day at Mrs. Stephanie's Preschool. Her first day was a hit and today she wanted to go a couple hours early because 'all the kids are there already, mama.' I told her to just calm down and they were excited to see her too. I am anticipating a very good semester of learning for her, especially learning to be patient and wait her turn to speak. She goes every tuesday and thursday right after lunch for two hours. It gives me a small break but i am excited to see sarah learn and grow. for the meantime, Emily gets to hang out with mama all by herself with no competition!

Nature Walk Monday

So today we had a giant, windy snow storm. Well it was giant enough for us not to go out and get whipped around. Mother nature was pretty awesome today and it reminded me of the time we hiked up to Multnoma Falls in Oregon. Boy, it was something alright. Totally beautiful, green, freezing, wet and foggy. Was that enough to describe it? I loved it. Also all of us were soaking wet from the hike to the bridge and Jeremy was even worse for hiking all the way up. So enjoy these nature pics of Multnoma Falls.

10 years ago:I was in my second semester at Ricks College falling in love with my BFF Sarah Anne MacDonald. We spent countless nights talking about the best simpsons episodes over and over and talking about how awesome we were and how boys just threw themselves at us. I wanted and still want to be just like her. I remember how i was so obsessed about a guy that was a crap head to me. that was then and i have no idea what he is like now but who cares, right? I was 19, so young thinking that i would never get older but somehow 10 years have passed. I remember debated whether or not i should go on a mish or just do the whole ILP thing. Sarah reminded me that a mission was better and knew that for sure i would go to Russia. I knew it too but i am glad that she was there to help me remember. Plus I had super duper in love Cort and Carlos there to be fun. I once heard that if Cort didn't have a tight grip on Carlooose that she feared he might fall for me. that was funny! sorry sarah if i stole the hearts of all your boytoys back then. I was just trying to be you.

What I would do if I were suddenly made a billionaire: First I would get those money signs in my eyes and the song " I'm in the money" would be playing everywhere i went. Then I would go swimming in it like Scrooge McDuck does and Monty Burns. Then I would turn my house into a romantic victorian home and take care of my elderly parents. I would give alot to tithing and i would still have my husband work because he likes it not cuz he has too. I would probably work too. I would definately give to various charities like cancer especially Luekemia/Lymphoma Society. I would save many animals and their habitats like unneccessay whale hunting, aerial wolf attacks, save the pandas, save the sharks etc. I think you get the picture. I would also travel and so service missions all over the world.

after school is out

So i think that i finally made a decision about jeremy's after school life. I have wanted to go back to school myself. I just knew that someday it would come. I also know that a traditional college is not for me. So while I want to become many things, i know that i don't necessarily need to get a 4 year degree to be them or do them. I have decided that as soon as we settle down in jeremy's new career, i want to start up some art classes. not graphic art, but true, passionate, bold art. i can see myself expressing my creations and enjoying it. The crazy thing is that i change my mind so much that by the end of the semester I might want to invest my time in something else. so hang on to this thought, start a betting pool, and see if this desire comes to pass.

Heath Ledger Died!

So he pulled a River Pheonix and will live forever young. He will be missed. I thought he was a fine actor and had his whole career ahead of him. Plus doing Joker for the new batman surely would have be awesome for his career. sadly though he had to leave. What I don't understand is why the regular news media thinks that this is so important that they were already talking about it for 1 1/2 hours. he OD'd ok. probably on ambien. they don't put that in there commercials. but ok so we all need to get back to our lives.

Bathroom Makeover

I wish that i could have all the money that i wanted and my own bathroom that didn't belong to a stinky landlord. i would have, long ago, redone the bathroom. it is hideous to look at and i have no idea why they used the egg shell color for the paint. plus you've got the ugly dark brown fake wood doors with paint splatters on them from lazy painters. so i decided to do something, anything to try to make it more "me" and cute and pleasant to look at and be in. This is practice for when we get a real house and i can go crazy with all my creative ideas. so within budget and from searching through magazines for ideas with my own twist i came up with a few simple ways to liven up an ugly, plain bathroom to a cute chabby chic powder room. First i found some white 4x4 frames from the dollar section of Target. I placed cute scrapbook paper in the frame instead of photos. This was what I was using as the base of my color scheme. I have two that are matching and the center one is the focal point of the pictures so it is different. I love french themes so i decided to try and go with the pink and black with a small hint of pastel lime green. Next I hunted down a treasure from the DI. It was a white shelf with a pink painted bow. As soon as i got home i began to sand down the shelf to create the "shabby" look. turned out very cute. I placed some jars that i had found at a close out store called provo craft with some victorian easter themed pics on them to add to the shelf. Them for the center of the shelf i filled a large jar with wedding pink petals to add the soft pink look. I also glued the pic of a cute couple, victorian style on the jar to add a romantic touch. And last night i decided to create my own canvas art by glueing ripped pieces of scrapbook paper to the canvas and embellishing it with a large cute girl, victorian of course, with lace and buttons. Not bad. I plan to finish the look today by purchasing the "Oh La La" bathroom set with curtains, hook and accessories. Hope you like the look too. I sure do. sorry the light is not so good. i am lazy with the photoshop and just don't have the time since i spent it all explaining every detail of this little project. i know i know- unneccesary instructions.

Why benjamin Franklin?

The other day my mom told me something so funny that broke out into a bar room cackle. she said that as she was looking in the mirror she saw her reflection to remind her of Benjamin Franklin. This of course was absurd since she doesn't wear round spectacles.

snow day saturday

so today we decided that it would be a great day to go sledding with the girls. we had everything including extra socks for when we wanted to get back in the car and go home. so we get to rock canyon park and it is an awesome sight with lots of kids and families all over the place sledding their hearts out. what does emily do as soon as we get to the bottom of the hill? she starts screaming her head off for about 30 minutes until jeremy takes her to grandma's house. he told that as soon as she got in the car she was happy and went to sleep. i could have done without that. so sarah and had a good time sledding together and laughing until dad came back. that is when he got the vid cam out and recorded me landing on my head and rolling all over the mountain two times. i did take some shots of him and sarah have a great time. sarah did good and would laugh when she fell of the sled. the best was when she lost the sled and decided just to slide down on her tummy after it. i couldn't stop laughing. but this little number takes the cake. a group of adults brought a couch on skis. they drug it up to the top of the hill, then while wearing motorcycle helmets, slid down the mountain laughing and screaming the whole way. who got the footage? I did. be looking for it soon on youtube.

I can get more done but i also have to deal with the tantrums that started before she was two. luckily she didnt have any during the pictures. she did great opening her gifts and eating just the frosting on her cake. Happy Birthday Little M.
