Skipped Earth Day

i love pauly shore. don't ask me why cuz i can't explain it.
I rarely know what the date is anymore. i just know that sarah has a short day or long day, someone needs a babysitter on a certain day etc. ask me the specific date and i draw a blank. so naturally i missed earth day in the worldy sense but honestly earth day is everyday for me. i don't have a car so we walk to school and to friends houses, to the park or play on our field, pick slugs off our plants, reuse our bags, seperate the papers etc. really if you do it everyday then we really wouldn't need a holiday on our calendars to remind us to love our planet and take care of it. the same with other holidays like veterns day, memorial day, secretaries day, mother/father's day etc. if we recognized them on a daily basis, didn't have wars or whatever then we wouldn't need to set aside a day and only think of them once a day. so in essence i didn't forget earth day. pat on the back to myself. don't forget the 3 r's. Reduce Reuse Recylce- daily.
you don't need to be a tree hugging, hippie loving, tye-dyed, shower skipping, mountain climbing, dead head, trader joe, whole foods, granola eating goof ball to appreciate God's creations.
what i did do on Earth Day was watch Bio Dome.

Triple Digits!

The sun is so evil!!! It wants me to burn!
Seriously you have got to be kidding me! It is only the middle of April and we are hitting 100+ degrees today. yesterday was pretty sweltering but i was sweating the moment i started getting ready for the day. i could feel it at 7 am today. the sun was bright and very inviting until we started walking to school and i was breaking a sweat. Two weeks ago we were still wearing our hoodies every morning to keep off the chill. Last week was spring break and we slept in everyday and it was over cast most of the time. Today.....well let's just say I don't think i am ready for high temps and continuous sweating. I would think by this year I would be acclimated for hot weather. If I am uncomfortable now, how in the dickens I am suppose to make it this summer???? I am perspiring right now in my house as I type this! GROSSS!!! no need for makeup and shower until after I walk back to school to get sarah. I just hope I can survive this year otherwise I am moving to anywhere that doesn't get above 68 degrees F.

Hope you had a very Happy Easter!

I love Easter. It is a great time to reflect on the Saviour and his greatest of all gifts to mankind- The Resurrection. I am so thankful to have the knowledge of Jesus Christ, to know that he died for me, my family, my friends, my neighbors and everyone of other faiths. He did it unselfishly and full of humility. Can you even picture yourself taking his place? I know that I am weak and would never be able to do that. We had alot of fun with our Easter Egg lesson. Each egg had a scripture and an object to remind of us his trial and suffering, death and rebirth. I hope we all had time to reflect and rededicate our lives to him. Read 1 Timothy 4:12. It is a great scripture. In the meantime, try to work off all that yummy food and candy that I know you all helped eat!

Happy Birthday!

My great Aunt Bette painted this portrait

Today is a very special day for everyone. Today is Jesus' Birthday and we celebrate it! We are making him a gingerbread house and making decorations when sarah comes home. It is a great time to learn about his birth and then go right into his death and resurreaction. We are excited for both his special day and his other special day! Emily and I decided to get all gussied up for today as well. The best part about today is the presents that we will bring to him. Although we can in nowise compare our gifts to his ultimate gift of the Atonement, we can try by making promises to be more faithful in our prayers, actions, scripture study, temple attendance, FHE, spreading the gospel through missionary work, magnifying our callings, visiting our sisters every month, keeping the sabbath day holy, etc. There are so many things we can improve on in our everyday lives to show our love for our Saviour.

Some wonderful scriptures to ponder and read to are:
Moses 1:39- For behold, this is my work and glory-to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man.

Luke 2:7- And she brought forth her first-born son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.
Luke 2:11- For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

Helaman 14:5- And behold, there shall a new star arise, such an one as ye have have beheld; and this also shall be a sign unto you.

Isaiah 7:14- Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son; and shall call his name Immanuel.

There are many more scriptures about his birth and the glorious event if was for ALL mankind. And even more scriptures on his death and resurreaction. I hope we can all give more this year to him and become like him. I would love to read what your favorite scriptures are on his birth and death this week so speak up and let us all rejoice in his life and love. I know that he lives and we can too. The path is strait and narrow but in Christ we can do all things!
Happy Birthday Jesus!

Emily is such a beauty!

Blast from the Past

So I was looking through my family history pile next to my bed to organize it up a bit and i came acrossed some old photos that I was using for a sharing time once. They made me smile alot and I just had to share one of my all time favorites. I am sitting on a pony that came around the neighborhood for the sole purpose of taking pics in a cowgirl get up on a real pony. I can still remember doing it and I think I must have been about 3 years old. You just don't forget a thing like that. I wish they still did this and they might somewhere in the free world but I have never had the chance with my girls. Does anyone else have a pony pic that they took when they were little? I would love to see some of your pictures to compare smiles and outfits! Also there was only one other beach baby ball blogger! Thanks Janelle. Your prize is some handmade cards. I have been working with stamps and stuff so they are in the beginning stage. I hope you likey! Thanks for playing.
