A Fantastic Moment

I love waking up to the sound of two little girls not crying and so willing to help mommy by letting her stay in bed and give directions. As soon as Sarah wakes up she comes to inform me that she is ready for the day. So I let her turn the computer on so she can play her games. She gets on the internet all by her wee self(i, of course, am watching so she doesn't see anything crazy!) and she plays polly world or pbs kids or barbie.com. It is usually about 30-40 minutes later that Emily rises from her blissful slumber and comes into my room chatting away about some silly nonsense. At this point she needs a new diaper and Sarah runs to get a new, clean diaper and wipes. This morning i was feeling particularly lazy and asked Sarah if she would do it for me. Immediately her reply was YES! She laid Emily down and stripped off the pants and panties until she found the super wet diaper. She checked for poops first and found that it was "only pee pees momma." She wiped and folded the diaper and put the new one on her with little trouble. It was great. Now she is in the kitchen preparing breakfast for herself and Emily. Who could ask for anything more?(no pictures were taken to spare them of future ridicule)

Chocolate-The Miracle Worker

Have you ever had the feeling of your body succumbing to a cold or illness but your brain simply refuses to give in? This is what i am going through and have been going through for the last couple of days. I could feel the cold coming on with a tickle in my throat and a tiny cough. But I just refuse to be sick this year(this winter). I have done everything in my power to prevent myself from havin a full blown cold. I have seen so many miserable people that just didn't have the will power to keep from getting sick. I do believe a big part of staying healthy is Willpower. I keep telling myself "No, you will not get sick. Look how you take care of yourself. There is no way you can get sick." This has helped me to carry on, through all the coughs, runny noses, fevers, and late nights. I gave myself a "punch in the face" of vitamins yesterday since i really felt the cold coming on. Another big help was getting to take a long enough nap to feel refreshed. Something that also works is chocolate. I ate as much as i could find, and boy did i feel better. I do believe that Professor Lupin was right when he gave Harry Potter some chocolate after he was attacked by the dementors. He is quoted as saying "Here, eat this. It's chocolate. You'll feel better." Based on my experience yesterday, i can only conclude that he is absolutely correct.

A Wish for a Friend

Thought you could all use an Irish Blessing today!!

Wishing you a rainbow
For sunlight after showers—
Miles and miles of Irish smiles
For golden happy hours—
Shamrocks at your doorway
For luck and laughter too,
And a host of friends that never ends
Each day your whole life through!

Joseph Loves Shannon

This might seem extreme but when certain holidays come around i watch a certain movie to get me pumped up. Well, for St. Patrick's Day i watch Far and Away. No laughing i think that is the best Tom Cruise movie ever. He is such a scrapper! It makes me want to go after land and me my own landowner. So check it out. You only see a piece of Ireland at the beginnin' but you see the treatment of the Irish in the states and how sad it was. Don't forget to wear green on monday and look for you pot o' gold too. May the luck of the Irish be with us all on St. Patrick's Day!

When sissy is away, grandma Emily will play!

Emily came across a pack of pink hair rollers one morning when Sarah was gone to grandma's house. So Emily and I have lots of time to play together but she really wanted to wear these rollers. And one by one she brought them to me, so i could do her hair up right. She left them in for about 2 hours while she did her grandma duties. Here she is paying her morning bills with her large cup of Hot chocolate.

Child Labor Ready

Yes that is right. sarah is now labor ready. She has finally agreed, by her own accord, to vacuum the front room. This had me so excited that i took pictures of her doing it. I gave her an A+ for hard work and enthusiasm! I do feel some sense of accomplishment when my children want to do chores. That is pretty much what we do everyday so it has become natural for them to want to do it too!

One of Those Days

Yesterday i felt like doing nothing. So for hours and hours we just played, rolled, laughed, hid etc not doing anything. It got to the point that i had regretted not showering and started to become "blue". I found a very quick solution to make up for my greasy, no bra, pajama look. I bet you want to know the answer? The answer is CUPCAKES. Or, as our family calles them PUPCAKES. named after Huckleberry and Strawberry Shortcakes favorite puppy. Those really did cheer us all up. I was able to start cleaning and go out of the house(still without a shower, but with a bra) to the DI. I was looking for a bike seat but all they have is junk! So while looking, a hispanic couple was staring at us with a large tv in there cart. I recognized them instantly as members from my ward. I didn't know their name but that didn't stop them. The husband walked over to me and said(this was sooo cute)"Sister, do you think you could find someone to give us a ride home." Here i am just as gross as can be in my hammer-time pajama pants with grease running down my head and two kids that look like ragamuffins and someone from the ward sees us!! I immediately knew that we would help them and the tv fit just perfect in the trunk. What would they have done if i wasn't there. I knew that i was suppose to go even for a few short minutes. they live right across the way from me so it was no trouble going home. As soon as they got out on their way i said to sarah"Do you know what just happened?" "No, mom what happened?"she asked. "We did a good thing today helping our neighbors. It was a good day." She just said ok and went on her way playing with Emily. Despite all the hours wasted, well not wasted but spent idly, we made up for it in an instant. Service is the best pick me up!

I had to take a picture to post my hideousness. I don't really care that this picture is here for all to see but I just wanted everyone to know that i am human and can transform myself like I have magic at my fingertips. so have a good laugh at this beast of a picture!

Delicious Man of the Month Club

All those in favor say "Aye matie"! So Cort "protosed"(say like cyndi almond beeckler of Orange County)that we should have a Delicious Man of the Month posted on our blogs. I love this idea since there are some of mine that really want to be shown off. Some of us might have the same tastes and some of you others might gross us out with a pic of Danny from NKOTB! Whatever the case may be i think this would be fun. Please look to the right of my blog and admire James McAvoy in his hotness. I did see Penelope and it was fantastic. I just loved the meaning of this movie. Be happy with yourself. We can't all be the most gorgeous beauty that walked the earth but we can all be beautiful and just have to accept that. We will be so much happier when we love who we are instead of trying to be somebody we are not. Let's get these men going!
